Automated assembly line

This site helps plant buyers prepare a dedicated automated assembly line RFQ and compare factory quotations. Scope covers pallet or shuttle transport, station dwell versus synchronous indexing, carrier payload including nests, and how failed assemblies leave the main flow. Public platform literature lists transport speed in m/s, track width in mm, pallet payload in kg and positional accuracy in mm; those figures are comparison units, not a promised throughput for your duty cycle.

Stations that join, inspect or cure often need independent dwell. A fast conveyor section does not erase a long process step. Ask bidders for a timing diagram keyed to representative parts rather than a peak cycles/min number. Buyer and supplier responsibilities stay split: you provide process intent and samples; the equipment supplier confirms feasibility; Automated Assembly Line Sourcing coordinates comparable quotes. Read the transport concept note before locking architecture.

Request Factory Quotes

Choose a quotation route

Use one route per inquiry so suppliers do not fill gaps with unstated assumptions about compressed air demand, three-phase supply or PLC interface tags.

Defined specification

Attach the work envelope, footprint, connected load target and the good-parts-per-hour basis with material and inspection conditions. Name whether carrier payload includes the nest and retained tooling. List upstream and downstream handoffs so the quote is not limited to a bare transport chassis.

Send requirements

Selection still open

When architecture is still a trade-off, state the longest station dwell, the mixed-SKU changeover window and whether a failed assembly must keep its processing history after diversion. We will ask factories to quote options against the same trial sequence instead of mixing catalogs.

What an automated assembly line quotation should separate

Machine

Transport chassis, stations, tooling, vision recipes, software licenses and the PLC interface. Peak transport speed is not a substitute for validated output on buyer samples.

Delivery

Crating, ocean or air freight, duties, insurance and whether FAT travel is included. Destination ZIP and requested window belong in the RFQ, not as a later surprise.

Site

Foundation, utilities, cooling water, compressed air demand, installation labor, training and SAT. These lines often sit outside the machine price.

No numerical saving claim without comparable quotations.

Replacement versus a new automated assembly line

Can a new line drop into the existing cell envelope?

Existing process

Many plants replace a worn indexer while keeping the same infeed, outfeed and operator aisle. That only works if the new work envelope, connected load and three-phase supply match the room, and if reject diversion still preserves genealogy.

Ask the supplier to mark every utility and mechanical interface that must be cut, extended or re-certified before SAT, instead of treating the purchase as a like-for-like swap.

What procurement scope does this site cover?

Dedicated automated assembly line procurement for US plant buyers. Synonyms stay on this site. We match factories and compare wholesale quotations. This service does not manufacture equipment, hold inventory or act under a brand appointment. Engineering acceptance remains in the contract between buyer and equipment supplier. See acceptance notes and the equipment options.
