Automated assembly line manufacturer quotes

Automated Assembly Line Sourcing coordinates comparable quotations from automated assembly line manufacturers and factories. We do not sell as an OEM. Each bidder must quote against the same assumptions: station dwell map, carrier payload including nests, reject genealogy, utility list and which items sit in the base machine versus later change orders.

Component tolerance extremes that will run at FAT belong in the RFQ, not as a verbal aside after award. Tooling, installation, shipping, training and commissioning must be marked included or excluded. A factory that omits vision recipes or software licenses is not cheaper until those lines are restored on the same sheet. Review system options and the good-parts acceptance note before you freeze the manufacturer shortlist.

Service stage and responsibilities

Delivery scope

Delivery scope: Sample run

For the sample run, list the joining, inspection and curing stations that cannot share a common index. Provide part mass, fixture mass and whether the nest stays on the pallet. Tell manufacturers which tolerance extremes—minimum press-fit, maximum flash, off-center holes—must appear in the FAT lot. A timing diagram is more useful than a catalog cycle time. If a failed assembly is diverted, the quote should say how the processing history stays attached to that serial.

Site readiness

Site readiness covers three-phase supply voltage and frequency, compressed air demand, cooling water, footprint, ceiling height and the PLC interface the plant already uses. Manufacturers should state connected load and which utilities they assume. Foundation and extraction often sit outside the machine price. If the line replaces an indexer, mark every pipe and cable that must be moved before SAT. Training hours and documentation language belong in this column so they are not absorbed into a vague commissioning allowance.

Owner acceptance

Owner acceptance is a contractual gate between buyer and equipment supplier. Automated Assembly Line Sourcing can help compare FAT/SAT wording, but we do not sign off process capability. Ask for records of good parts, reject causes, station stops and operator interventions over an agreed run length. Software access and future recipe revisions should be named as included, licensed or extra. Spare parts for the first duty cycle window prevent a silent gap after handover.
